Conventional Western drug development has thus far failed to develop effective therapies to treat the underlying pathology of HIV infection and AIDS. Except for some advances in the treatment and prevention of the secondary opportunistic infections associated with HIV/AIDS, the billions of dollars spent in drug development and testing for the most part has been wasted....
